Virtual Workshop: TOK in the IB DP Math Classroom
Saturday November 1, 2025
09:00-11:00 Americas CDT = 14:00-16:00UTC
In this interactive virtual workshop, Craig Furniss (MAA HL teacher and TOK Coordinator) will lead you through some of the key ideas where TOK and Mathematics overlap. Through this webinar, we will develop some questions, activities and learning engagements that we can use in our curriculum development and classroom practices.
We will explore key concepts in both mathematics and in TOK and how they can help us build statements of inquiry and guiding questions for our mathematics pedagogy. Throughout the webinar, we will explore intriguing mathematical ideas and teaching points, and by applying TOK-style questioning, we will develop these ideas into highly engaging activities to use in class with our students. Finally, we will take a look at the TOK prescribed titles for M26 and discuss how we can support our students in writing strong essay responses within the area of knowledge (AOK) of mathematics.
A certificate of attendance will be provided.
The materials and Zoom link will be send via email about one week prior to the event.
